Girls soccer team loses three straight but is improving
September 16, 2013Southport High School
The girls soccer team lost all three games last week, but their coach believes they are showing improvement from last year.
First was their game at Bloomington North on Sept. 9, they lost, 4-0. According to head coach Mr. Dan McLaughlin the girls played much better despite their loss.
The previous year, the girls lost 7-0. The girls aren’t at the skill level in which they win most their games according to McLaughlin, however this season they have nearly cut their allowed points in half.
Next the girls traveled to Bloomington South on Sept. 11, and lost again, 8-0.
The previous year the girls were trampled by Bloomington South losing 12-0. Even though they didn’t score the team is in fact improving according to the coach.
Finally against Franklin Community Sept. 14, they lost, 6-0.
It has officially been six days since the team has scored a point. This could very well be because of the many injuries the team has been suffering.
Tonight, Sept. 16, is the girls next game against Franklin Central. It is not only home, but it is senior night, the game starts at 7:30 p.m.
Come out and support your Lady Cards, and honor your seniors.
