Cards Lacrosse to have first home contest of year
March 8, 2013
Southport High SchoolThe boys varsity lacrosse will host Concordia high school this Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Mary Bryan Elementary School field.
Head varsity coach Mr. Jim Mckenney describes the Concordia team as inexperienced, but talented.
“Concordia is a first year program made up of players who played last season at Snider and players who are new to the game entirely,” Mckenney said. “I expect them to have a couple talented guys but they will largely have a young, inexperienced team.”
In practice the team has been perfecting their craft by getting down the fundamentals of lacrosse and working on the little things according to Mckenney.
Even though the team hasn’t got to practice as much as usual, Mckenney still expects a win from his team.
“I expect the team to start off slow due to our lack of practice with all of the erratic weather, but at the end of the day I expect a win,” Mckenney said.
Come out and support your Cards as the kickoff their season this Saturday.
