March 5, 2013
Southport High SchoolThe girls tennis team ended with a record of 6-12 last season. They won their Sectional last year.
“Our goal this year will be to do it again,” head coach Mr. Harry Schwartz said.
The tryouts will be held next Monday (March 11) after school. 62 girls will be trying out for 20 spots open so there will be lots of cuts to be made this year according to Schwartz.
Key returners for the Cards will be seniors Andie Reinhart, Kayla Walker, Sui Cer, Callie Hunsicker and Julia Dembroski. Also sophomore Danielle Keeler will be returning to the team after playing number two singles last season. The Cards only lost one varsity player last year, Gena Clayton.
