STOTAN preview
February 26, 2013
Southport High SchoolSTOTAN, “We got the idea from a young adult literature book.” Head Baseball coach Scott Whitlock said.
According to Whitlock, STOTAN came from a story about a swim coach who had a real small team, they couldn’t fill all the races in, and he tried to fill in those races with the people who wouldn’t get tired, so he held a STOTAN week, where it was a training exercise where you just don’t quit, no matter how tough it is.
STOTAN is when high school baseball players get up before 5 a.m. and run constantly and Whitlock hopes that it can teach the boys mental toughness.
STOTAN is a week long, filled with different circuit training s.
Monday: Circuit.
Tuesday: STOTAN Olympiad.
Wednesday: Team- building day, iron man.
Thursday: Circuit again.
Friday: For those who dare, team breakfast and t-shirts.
For those who didn’t finish the circuit on Monday have a chance to finish it on Thursday.
Pictures of STOTAN week will be up every day on the website.
