Lady Cards basketball to take on Mooresville

January 31, 2013
By Nick Holland of Southport High School

The girls basketball team will travel to Mooresville tonight to take on the Lady Pioneers.

Mooresville is on a three game win streak after beating Whiteland, Terre Haute South and Plainfield. The Lady Pioneers are led in scoring by freshman Larren McBryar and sophomore Sarah Corbin. McBryar is averaging just over 11 points per game (ppg) and Corbin averages just under 10 points a game.

The Lady Cards will have to play good defense if they want to slow down a Mooresville team that averages more than 50 ppg as a team.

This will be Lady Cards seniors final regular season away game. This year’s seniors are Ja’Breena Gardner, Grace Clark and Bria Wright.

The JV game is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. and the varsity game will follow.

Make sure you come out and support your Lady Cards in their efforts.
