Lady Cards basketball loses to Columbus North

January 15, 2013
Southport High School

The Lady Cards basketball team lost to Class 4A #1 Columbus North 67-56 this past Thursday (Jan. 10). Leading the Lady Cards in scoring were senior Grace Clark and sophomore Shayla Wright scoring 17 and 16, respectively.

Wright hit five three-pointers in the first quarter and gave the Lady Cards a nine point lead heading in to the second quarter. The Lady Cards gave up 25 points in the second quarter and lost their lead. The Cards made a few runs in the second half, getting within a few points, but Columbus North just kept scoring and the Lady Cards fell short.

The Lady Cards hope they can bounce back and win when they play tonight (Jan. 15), against Greenwood. JV will begin at 6:00 p.m. and Varsity will follow about 7:30 p.m.

Come out and support your Cards.
