Cards wrestling team competes in Scottsburg and Capitol Classics

Over break the boys wrestling team had two events. The boys placed 6^th out of 10^th at the Scottsburg Invitational.

There were two individual champions, sophomore Dameion Rutledge at 106 lbs and senior Casey Kauffman at 112 lbs. They both went 9-0. Junior Gideon Sanlianpuia (132) placed 2^nd, going 8-1. Sophomore Jesse Leamon (126) placed 3^rd, going 7-2.

“We had nine wrestlers place in the top 6 at the Old Capitol Classic in Corydon as well,” head coach Mr. David Walpole said.

“Kauffman led the way,” Walpole said, “by winning the individual championship.”

Rutledge placed 2^nd and Leamon placed 4^th.

 “We also have a big day on Saturday,” Walpole said, “As we travel to Bloomington North for the Conference Indiana Tournament.”

The meet is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
