Cards wrestling scores, but loses to Perry Meridian

December 6, 2012
Southport High School

The boys wrestling team lost last night Dec. 5, against Perry Meridian, 12-48.

“We looked good in some weights,” head coach Mr. David Walpole said. “Some of the guys stepped up and others are going to continue to improve.”

Sophomore Dameion Rutledge (106), Casey Kauffman (113), and Gideon SanLianpuia (138) all won.

“It was kind of weird,” Walpole said, “coaching against guys that I coached with for so long, but it was also fun to compete against them.”

The Cards have a quick turnaround and have five dual meets this coming weekend at Columbus North.

“We are looking to have a solid two days of practice and then on to the next one,” Walpole said.

Come out and support your Cards.
