Home » Girls' Basketball NewsLady Cards basketball wins with dominating player performanceNovember 21, 2012 By Nick Holland of Southport High SchoolThe Lady Cards basketball team came out with a win against visiting Northwest last night by a score of 56-35. Head coach Ms. Leah Enterline was happy with the way the team played and how they are improving. “We looked a lot better,” Enterline said. “The way we played I feel like were really improving.” Junior Molly Bridges led the Lady Cards with 24 points and 14 rebounds. Enterline said her performance helped the team not only score, but create shots for other players. But Enterline has made it known that even though the team is improving, there are still a few things the team needs to work on. “We get a lot of open shots,” Enterline said. “But we just cant knock them down, especially our outside shots. We are definitely going to get a lot of shots up in practice. As well as work on driving to the basket and drawing contact and getting to the foul line.” The Lady Cards hope their shooting problems can work themselves out before they take on the Lady Orioles of Avon next Tuesday, Nov. 27. Avon is 0-1 on the season after losing to Brownsburg last week. The Lady Cards will have to look out for sharpshooter freshman Taylor Speckman who is shooting 60% from beyond the arc. Come out and support your Lady Cards. Nick Holland SHS News Bureau
