Lady Cards volleyball come out with win on senior night

Southport High SchoolThe Lady Cards volleyball team defeated Greenwood last night, Thursday, Oct.4, on senior night. The Lady cards won in 3 sets: 25-23, 25-20, and 25-20.This is the first time all season the Lady Cards have won in straight sets.
Senior Bria Wright had 15 kills and 13 digs, junior Bailey Brothers had 16 kills and sophomore Shayla Wright had 42 assists.
Head coach Mr. Kyprian Harasymowycz was happy with the win.
“We lost to them last season, so it was nice to get a win against them,” Harasymowycz said.
In practice Harasymowycz plans on conserving the girl’s energy.
“We need to stay healthy especially since sectionals are coming up,” Harasymowycz said.
Harasymowycz believes there are some things the team needs to improve on before their next game.
“We need to gain that killer instinct and start off good at the beginning of our matches,” Harasymowycz said.
The Lady Cards play again Tuesday, Oct. 9 against Columbus North. The game is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.
