Girls volleyball to have first county game vs. LN

September 26, 2012
Southport High School

The Lady Cards volleyball team will travel to Lutheran tonight Wednesday, Sept. 26, to take on Lawrence North. This game will kick off the first round of the Marion County tournament for the Lady Cards. The game is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. The Lady Cards are looking to improve their 6-14 record.

The Lady Cards have already played against LN this season and lost, but head coach Mr. Kyprian Harasymowycz said the team will know what to expect.

“We have made some defensive adjustments for this game,” Harasymowycz said.

Harasymowycz mentioned that Lawrence North is a big, athletic team.

“We had trouble putting balls away last time we played them due to their size,” Harasymowycz said.

In order to get a win tonight Harasymowycz believes the team will have to do something they haven’t done before.

“We need to putt balls away, stay consistent with our serve receive, and be a threat behind the serve line,” Harasymowycz said.

Harasymowycz is glad to have senior Michaela Ullrich back tonight. She’s coming back from a concussion.

The winner of this game will advance to play Perry Meridian in the second round of the tournament.

Come out and support your Lady Cards.
