Boys soccer to play first round of county vs. Lawrence Central

The boys soccer team will begin the Marion County tournament tonight, Sept. 25, against Lawrence Central. The game will be held at Pike and is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.

“It’s hard to say how this game will go,” Brown said. “We are playing very good soccer, and I’m happy with the progress we have made, but this game is unique.”

Brown feels it’s hard for a high school team to beat the same team twice in two weeks.

“We just played this team two weeks ago,” head coach Mr. Josh Brown said. “Although we won, we gave them a ton of confidence at the end by giving up two late goals.”

Brown thinks if the team comes out strong and score first, they will do well.

“If we allow them to build off the confidence we gave them,” Brown said. “It could be a battle. In the end though, I expect to win and will be disappointed if we do not.”
