Boys soccer to have senior night
September 18, 2012
Southport High SchoolThe boys soccer team has a game tonight, September 18, against Bloomington North. The game will be held at Mary Bryan and the game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
“We have been playing fairly good soccer,” head coach Mr. Josh Brown said. “So we should do well. We need to play a complete game and not just a good half.”
In the Cards last five games they are 4-1, in Bloomington North’s last five games they are 5-0. Both teams are playing good soccer according to Brown.
“If we can keep our focus and play like we have been,” Brown said. “I am fairly confident we will get our desired result. Plus, tonight is senior night, so hopefully that will add a little incentive for the boys to play harder.”
Captain and senior Efrain Tovar believes the team can have a good game tonight if they do certain things well.
“I think since I’ve had a pretty good season I’ll play pretty good tonight,” Tovar said. “We just need to play together as a team, and we can win.”
Tovar doesn’t think that it being senior night will affect how he is going to play.
Come out and support your Cards and wish the seniors goodbye as they play their last home games.
