Girls XC beats Perry
September 6, 2012
Southport High SchoolThe girls cross country team came out with a win against south side rival Perry Meridian yesterday, September 5, by a score of 25-30. The lowest score wins, just like golf.
Scoring for the Lady Cards were freshmen Caroline Chappell, Delaney Bucker and Desiree Kinney. Also bringing in a score for the Lady Cards were sophomore Alecia Fredrick and senior Taylor Zorman.
Head coach Mr. Nathan Fishel believes his team did well, but still needs to improve.
“We ran well,” he said. “But we just need to keep running and lifting and having high expectations if we want to continue to get better.”
The Lady Cards hope they can improve upon this before their next meet, which is this Saturday, September 8. They will be competing in the Ben Davis Invitational. The meet is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
Make sure you come out and support your Lady Cards.
