Girls XC looks to pull ahead vs. Perry
September 5, 2012
By Nick Holland of Southport High SchoolThe Lady Cards cross country team will face off with south side rival Perry Meridian tonight, September 5.
Head coach Mr. Nathan Fishel is optimistic about tonight, but is also realistic about his team’s chances.
“(Perry) has a really good #1 runner in Kieran Casey,” Fishel said. “Their #2 runner is a former Lady Card and she is very good as well.”
Fishel believes that his team can win if they stay with the #3 runner for Perry and can pull ahead in the final 3000 meters.
“We can win if we are able to put five to seven of our runners in front of their three runner,” Fishel said. “But if we don’t do that, then we won’t be able to win.”
The meet will be ran at Henry Burkhart Elementary School and is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.
Come out and support your Lady Cards.
