Volleyball loses to FC

September 5, 2012
Southport High School

The Lady Cards volleyball team lost to Franklin Central last night in three games. The scores of the games are as follows: game one 24-26, game two 11-25, and game three 22-25. The Lady Cards record is now 4-9.

Senior Bria Wright had 11 kills and 14 digs, sophomore Shayla Wright had 25 assists, and sophomore Jackie Bowie had a career-high of 12 digs.

The team lost senior Michaela Ullrich last night due to injury and sophomore Jackie Bowie had to play in her place.

Head coach Mr. Kyprian Harasymowycz said despite missing Michaelas’s presence the team received serves well. But, Harasymowycz said the team needs to improve on some things before the next game.

“We need someone to step up and take the leader role, and we need to construct our blocks as a team,” Harasymowycz said.

The Lady Cards next match is tomorrow, September 6 against Warren Central. The match is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. and will be an away meet for the Lady Cards.

Come out and support them as they try to come out with their fifth win of the season.
