Boys soccer triumphs against Shelbyville

August 24, 2012
Southport High School

The boys soccer team won last night against Shelbyville, 2-0.

"We had 5 players injured or recovering from injuries so I had to bring up 3 JV players to help us out," head coach Mr. Josh Brown said. "Everyone played very well, and we dominated the game.”

Junior Tlaun Thang and senior Cung Thawng scored the goals for the Cards.

“I was very happy with how our players stepped up,” Brown said. “They did the job we needed them to do."

The Cards hope to continue their winning ways on August when they have their conference opener against Pike. The game will be played at the Cards home field at Mary Bryan and is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.

Come out and support your Cards.
