Girls track finishes third

The girls track team finished third out of the three teams in their meet Tuesday, April 10. Their opponents were Franklin Central and Perry Meridian High Schools.

Bringing in wins for the Cards were senior Abby Springer in the low and high hurdles, the 4x100 meter relay team of seniors Springer, Juanesha Byrd, Tyler Paschall and junior Jabreena Gardner.

Head coach Mr. Nathan Fishel believes that this was a winnable meet. But he said that they are not clicking on all cylinders in certain areas.

“Our distance running and our throwing got us almost no points,” Fishel said. “We need to improve in those areas in order to win close meets.”

The Lady Cards hope to bounce back when compete against North Central High School on Thursday April 12 at 5:30 p.m. here at Southport.
