SETON JOINS CONFERENCE
August 6, 2014Seton Catholic High School
Seton Catholic has officially accepted an invitation to join the Pioneer Academic Athletic Conference (PAAC). Prior to this move Seton Catholic has always been independent. The Cardinals will join three other IHSAA schools (Anderson Preparatory Academy, Muncie Burris, and University) in the PAAC's expansion from six schools to ten schools beginning in the 2015-16 school year.
The PAAC was established in 2009. Its original and current six IHSAA member schools, all of whom are Class 1A or Class 2A schools, include Baptist Academy, Greenwood Christian, Indianapolis Crispus Attucks, Indianapolis Shortridge, International School of Indiana, and Liberty Christian.
Seton AD Trent Tremain:
"Joining a conference is something that we have been exploring for several years. It was all about finding the right blend of schools where both our boys and girls athletic programs could be competitive and finding a conference that offered the sports we offer. We are extremely excited about the opportunities this creates for our teams to compete for conference championships and for our athletes to earn recognition for their accomplishments. Other great selling points of the PAAC were their involvement not only with high school athletics but also middle school athletics and their emphasis on the student-athlete. We look forward to working with the other nine PAAC schools to make this an outstanding conference."
