Desmond Bane went 4-for-4 with a double as Seton Catholic defeated Blue River 12-10 Thursday at McBride Stadium.

It was the first head-coaching victory for Jake Carr, a Richmond High School and Earlham College graduate.

“It was great,” Carr said. “We played much better offensively, still some stuff that we need to work on. We had some defensive mistakes, but had guys come through with runners on base and getting the key hits, which is what we didn’t do against Hagerstown (in a 10-0 loss Tuesday).

“It’s definitely nice to get that first win of the season, first head-coaching victory, first win with a new program.”

Tyler Dolesh went 3-for-3, Adam Dolesh had two hits and both tripled, while Brady Gray also had two hits.
