Home » Girls' Basketball NewsCards take opener against PLDDecember 2, 2010 Scott County High SchoolThe score was deceiving in more ways than one. In Scott County's 81-70 win against Dunbar, the Lady Cardinals seemed a little flat. But not to the point that the game was ever in jeopardy. In fact, just the opposite. Scott County's less than perfect performance still put the Lady Cards ahead by as many as 30 points. They showed spurts reminiscent of last year's KHSAA tournament runners-up. As the second half kicked off, Scott County opened with an 11-0 run. The Lady Cardinals also held the Lady Bulldogs scoreless for nearly four minutes. With the wide open lead, SC was also able to give other players a chance to grab game experience. During this time, Dunbar's starters remained in the game, cutting into the Lady Cards lead from 30 to nine. Iman Guy lead the Cardinals in scoring with 14 points, followed by Stainback, who scored 13. Alex McKenzie fell just short of a double-double with nine points, nine rebounds. Scott County's next game will be 7:30 p.m., Friday at home. -Joshua Holland-
