King of the 'Cats

Senior Chad King made it official Wednesday that he'll be playing at the 'next' level. Chad is was on of the top Wildcats on the past 9-2 football team, and now hopes to play a similar roll with the Panthers of Birmingham-Southern. King played reciever on an offense that scored 376 points, but more impressive, he played defensive back on a defense that only allowed 135 points. King is currently playing on the 10-1 baseball team surrounded bu many of his fotball teamates his defensive back partners K. McNorton and A. Shelton play first base and catch, King plays outfield alongside the quarterback B. Dill. During the season King covered recievers and caught balls, but also returned punts, kicks, and halfway through the season became the kicker as well. He took a 9-1 team into the playoffs where in the first round they met who would become the 5A State champs. King and the rest of the team fought through a tough game that lasted two overtimes, unril Demopolis finally prevailed. King also played on the basketball team that won 20 games and won the 5A Area Tournament. King was one of two three sport athletes at SCHS. He now looks towards the end of baseball seaon and onto collge in Birmingham.
