Traveling Port Washington football fans were thrilled again as the Vikings advanced to (4-0) by beating the Great Neck North Rebels 47-12 in an away game that was filled with aggressive, hard-hitting, physical play for which this team has become known. On both sides of the ball, the Viking defense and offense dominated the Great Neck North team.
In an almost a complete shutdown of the Rebels’ offense, the Viking defense held GNN to -23 yards on the ground and 69 yards in the air. Senior Rob Reyes and Junior David Kinneary both had one pick each and Senior Khaled Amin came up with a big 4th down sack for a loss of 7 yards.
On offense, the Vikings continued to be impressive amassing 378 total yards of offense (223 on the ground and 153 in the air). Mike Gennusa was again the leading rusher on the team with 178 yards on 20 carries and 3 TDs, earning him the iHigh.com player of the week for the second time this season. Angel Reyes rushed for 2 TDs and Marc Livshin ran for another. QB James Burns completed 7 of 11 passes for 153 yds and 1 TD including a 60 yard strike to Johnny Nahas.
