What A Difference A Day Makes For Panther Girls

January 19, 2014
Mt Pleasant High School

After a lackluster performance last night at Fairfield, the Mt. Pleasant Panthers turned things around tonight, doing all the little things right, and handed a very good Mediapolis Bullettes team their first loss of the season, 65-56.

Mediapolis, the #2 ranked Class 3A team in Iowa, tested Mt. Pleasant all night, though the Panthers led virtually the entire contest. Mt. Pleasant led 13-10 after the first quarter, 32-26 at the half and 48-38 after three quarters. The Panthers largest lead was 17 points.

Kelsey Phipps and Taryne Shull led the Panther girls in scoring with 16 points each. Mediapolis was led by their outstanding player Andrea Larson, tallying 24.

The Panthers travel to Keokuk Friday night as part of a Girls and Boys varsity double header.
