Pleasant Trounces OskaloosaDecember 19, 2012 Mt Pleasant High SchoolA girls/boys varsity doubleheader last night yielded wins for both teams in front of the home crowd. The Mt. Pleasant Panther girls hung on for a 50-47 win while the boys rocked the gym in a 59-18 dominant conquest of the Oskaloosa team. In the boys game, the Panthers has three scoring in double figures, with Faith Pope getting 15, Ryan Hanna 13, and Dalton Conrad 10. In all, 10 Panthers got in the scoring column. Pope was the leading rebounder with 7 with Cameron Frank snatching 5 boards. The Panther defense held the Indians to only 6 points the entire first half. They are scoring an average of 15.6 points per game more than they are giving up. The MPCHS girls handed Osky only their second loss of the season, beating them 50-47. Natalie Ita scored 13 points and had 9 rebounds. Mary Wester added 12 points and Kelsi Phipps 11 and 10 boards. Mt. Pleasant plays West Branch Thursday, weather permitting.
