Home » General NewsCoach Jensen Announces RetirementNovember 13, 2012 Mt Pleasant High SchoolBob Jensen, long time football coach, activities director and exercise science instructor has submitted his resignation to the Mt. Pleasant Community School District Board of Directors who met in regular session Monday night and approved the request. Jensen grew up in rural Harlan, Iowa, attended the University of Northern Iowa and taught a short time in Elkader before coming to Mt. Pleasant in the early 70’s to teach and coach. His Panther football team this past season had a record of 2-7, but he had 159 victories and 13 playoff appearances in his 24 years as head coach.. During his tenure as head coach numerous players advanced to play at the next level in college, the most recent successful player being Jordan Cotton who is enjoying a good junior season with the Iowa Hawkeyes.
