Panthers Win Second Straight In District Play

September 23, 2012
Mt Pleasant High School

After starting out the season with three non-district losses, the Mt. Pleasant Panthers won their second straight district game, this one a 21-14 contest at Centerville Friday night.

The defense got the first touchdown for Mt. Pleasan as Lee Davis stripped the ball from a Big Red running back. Dalton Conrad scooped up the loose ball and ran 22 yards for the score.  Then the Panther offense got going and Connor Shull hit Alex O’Donnell with a 31 yard scoring strike.  The final score for the Panthers was in the third quarter on a Josh Larson 1 yard run.

Centerville made a game of it in the fourth quarter and put two scores up before the MPCHS defense shut the door with an interception and a good punting game.

Mt. Pleasant is now 2-3 overall and 2-0 in Class 3A District 7. They host the Fairfield Trojans next Friday night on Bob Evans Field at Mapleleaf Athletic Complex.
