Madison last night.It was the first win of the season for the Panthers and the players, fans and coaches celebrated together as the home team is now 1-3 and 1-0 in the district. Connor Shull found Alex O’Donnell in the end zone with a 12 yard scoring pass in the first quarter. The PAT was missed to the left by Liam Clancy, but about 8 minutes later he nailed a 42 yard field goal to give the Panthers a 9-0 lead. Ft. Madison pulled within two on a score by Brady Petry with 4 minutes remaining in the first half. FMHS took a 4 point lead with 15 seconds left in the 3rd quarter on a Ben Votrubek 3 yard run. The winning Panther score was put up with 6:19 to play when Josh Larson scored from 3 yards out. The two point conversion attempt failed and the Panthers hung on to win. Ft. Madison won the freshman contest 56-6. Mt. Pleasant plays at Centerville next Friday. Centerville is coached by former MP football player Chuck Evans. Chuck is the son of the late Coach Bob Evans.
