Mt. Pleasant Marching Invitational
August 27, 2012Mt Pleasant High School
Eighteen high school marching bands are scheduled to compete in the 14th Annual Mt. Pleasant Marching Invitational on Saturday, September 15.
The event will kick off at 5:45 PM with an exhibition performance by the Mt. Pleasant High School Panther Marching Band, followed by the Mt. Pleasant Middle School Marching Band. The early appearance by the high school band is made necessary due to the school's homecoming dance later that evening.
Among the schools that will be competing in field competition are Marshalltown, Muscatine, Wapello, Washington, Clinton, Western Dubuque, Mediapolis, Central Lee, and Cedar Rapids Jefferson, who won the Class 4A title here last year.
Admission is $5 and there will be concessions available throughout the evening.
The event will be held at the Mapleleaf Athletic Complex on Mapleleaf Drive. Practice and warm up fields will be available at the high school and McMillan Park (where the Old Threshers Reunion takes place).
More details about the Invitational, including a complete list of participating bands, will be announced soon.
