Home » Girls' Soccer NewsPanthers Get Rematch With Notre DameMay 16, 2012 Mt Pleasant High SchoolBack on April 10 the Mt. Pleasant girls soccer team faced a talented Burlington Notre Dame squad. That alone put the Panthers as the underdogs. But coupled with the fact that several key players were missing due to their participation with the school's jazz band at the State Jazz Championships, the team faced an uphill battle. Final score was 5-0. The girls know they can do better. They get another crack at the Nikes, this time in Burlington Thursday. Notre Dame is ranked #14 and this will be the second game in a row against a ranked opponent, having face #12 Clear Creek-Amana Monday night in a 6-0 loss. Mt. Pleasant can claim a little success against a ranked opponent, scoring a nice 2-0 win over #13 Mid-Prairie on the road. So far the Panthers are the only team to have shutout Mid-Prairie this season. So with more or less a full compliment of players this time, the Panther girls are excited to get another shot at one of the better teams on their schedule. The varsity game is slated to begin at 4:30 PM at Tackleson Field. It will be Senior Night for the Notre Dame girls.
