Mt. Pleasant Grad Guest Speaker At St. Ambrose

Willie Barney, a 1986 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, is tonight's guest speaker as part of St. Ambrose University's MultiCultural Week activities in Davenport.

Willie Barney is the Executive Director of Empower Omaha and the President/ Publisher of REVIVE! Omaha Magazine. As a student at St. Ambrose, Barney was a standout football player and currently sits sixth on the all-time career rushing list for the Fighting Bees. Barney's speech will be about his experience as a student at SAU, how SAU has contributed to his success, and his current career.

While at MPCHS, Barney was an outstanding multi-sport athlete and was also an outstanding student. Upon grauduating from St. Ambrose, he came back to his home town to work at the Motorola manufacturing facility in the finance department before moving to Omaha.
