Mt. Pleasant Girls Hand Regina Their First Loss

Coming off an exciting 53-51 win Friday night at Fairfield, the Mt. Pleasant Panther girls scored another big win, this time over previously unbeaten Iowa City Regina.

Taylor Shull scored 26 points to lead the Panthers to a 57-48 win over the Regals of Regina to up their record to 7-5. Kelsi Phipps, a freshman, added 18 points and Taryne Shull scored 11.

Taylor Shull, a senior headed to Bradley University next year to play DI basketball, currently is the second leading scorer in the state in 3A averaging 22.5 ppg. She is fourth in scoring statewide in all classes.

The Panthers next play at Centerville Tuesday night before enjoying two home games next weekend, Friday with Keokuk and Saturday with Oskaloosa which will part of a girl/boy varsity doubleheader.
