Lakers Lose opener to Busco

The young Lakeland Lakers opened up their season with a 33-19 loss to Churubusco at home. Leading the Lakers on offense were Karlan Troyer, Eli Wallace, and Tanner Raatz who all tallied up a touchdown. Troyer lead the receiving core with 80 yards. Wallace charged on with the rushing attack to pile up 89 yards, Senior Travis Fuller added a tough earned 54 yards.

                On the defensive side of the ball Eli Wallace lead the team with four tackles. Seniors Nathan Hippenhammer and Keon Miller also gave strong efforts to defend their goal each racking up 3 tackles. Sophomore Tanner Raatz along with his positional counterpart Jacob Jackson had a combined six tackles to help slow down the Eagle’s Offense. The Lakers continue their season Friday August 29, 2014 at New Haven with a 7:00 start.
