The Lakeland Softball team dropped two heartbreakers over the weekend to Concord. In the first game, the eleven inning battle was won by Concord after they scratched across 3 runs to push the lead to 5-2. Paige Gust went the distance for Lakeland, only giving up two earned runs and walking just two. Leading the Lakers offensively were Karissa Troyer and Kirsten Wiese, both with two hits.
Game two was decided by on run, after the rally was cut short. Jill Mingus hit a homerun in the effort, giving the Lakers two runs in exchange for one swing. Madison Campbell had two hits, leading the Lakers in that category.
