Laker Nine Lose to Falcons
April 29, 2014By Dalton Schmidt of Lakeland High School
Lakeland’s varsity baseball team lost a close contest to the Fairfield Falcons yesterday by a score of 6-3.
Dalton Sschmidt started the first inning action out when he walked, then William Kelly came up and excuted a perfect hit run moving Schmidt to third. Schmidt scored when Fairfield’s pitcher had an error while picking off to first. Morgan Moore would then hit his second homer of the year to bring around Kelly and himself. Those would be the only Lakers runs though as they would only get two more hits one from Alex Pearson and Dylan Pranger each. Pearson took the mound only allowing five earned runs off of nine hits while striking out four.
The Lakers are in action again this Thursday as they take on Busco in the concelation game of the NECC tourney.
