Lady Lakers Keep Streak Alive

The Lakeland girl’s basketball team has improved their winning streak to an impressive four games adding the last two with wins over Elkhart Central last Saturday and picking up another win over NECC foe Churubusco yesterday.
The Lakers were lead by senior point guard Ashtin Kaminer who had 13 points and added in six rebounds and five steals to her effort. Senior Blake Mullet also produced eight points and seven boards as the Lakers defeated Elkhart Central 37-33.
The final home game of the season for the Lakers was last night as they gave their seniors one last win at home for senior night picking up the victory over Busco 58-44. Senior Ashtin Kaminer had a great night with 17 points that went along with her five steals and four assists, this effort along with Sen. Blake Mullet’s six points, five rebounds and five steals combined for an easy NECC conference win as they finished the season with an NECC record of 5-5. Senior Carlee Richardson had four points and two steals.
You can see the girls in action this Saturday as they head to Sturgis for their final regular season game.
