The Lakeland JV boy’s basketball team made a vallient effort as they strived to be the Angola Hornets on January 18th 2014, unfortunately your Lakers fell short in their quest. Nothing seemed to go the Laker’s way as the Hornets tallied 52 points and the Lakers could only muster 27. The Lakers came out flat as a board as the Hornets flew by in the first quarter by outscoring the Lakers 3 to 11. The rest of the game was a well fought battle between the two teams. Leading scorers for your Lakers were Josh Collyer with 8 and Martin Gordon with 6.
In the second round of the JV tournament the Lakers tamed the Panthers of Prairie Heights by not only outscoring them but dominating the posessions of the game. The final game score was Lakers 50 Panthers 36. With the Lakers’ hard work finally paying off, they were able to tally a win and place third in the tournament. Leading scorers of the game were Skyler Grubb and Austin Hoffelder posting 13 and 12 points. Following behind them were Britain Isaacs and Josh Collyer with 6 a piece.
