Lakers Lose to Railroaders in 45th Minute

The Lakeland boys siccer team took on the Garrett Railroaders in front of their home crowd yesterday in their first home game of the season.
The Lakers struck first scoring in the ninth minute when Sammy Garcia took a pass from Nick Byler and put a nice shot past the Grarrett Goalkeeper. Garrett would respond with two goals of their own in the 13th and 27th minute. Lakeland would go on to tie it up a minute before the half as Garcia got his second goal of the day this time from teamate Eduardo Luna. The score would remain locked until the Railroaders put a ball into the back of the Laker net in the 45th minute , which wound up being the winning goal. The Lakers had ample oppurtunities to strike as they took 13 shots on goal and had 8 corners compared to just four shots for Garrett along with one corner.
The boys JV team also faced Garrett as they pulled out a 4-1 win with goals from Coal Long, Humberto Garduno, Jon Anderson, and Ismail Munoz.
