The Lakeland boys' basketball team picked up their first conference win Friday night after defeating the Hamilton Marines 44-42. A strong second half by the Lakers gave them the extra boost they needed to come out with the victory as they outscored Hamilton 29-23 in the half. The Lakers were led by Senior Mitch Herber who had 14 points while Daemyn Priestly added 12 points of his own. The win bumps the Lakeland to 4-10 on the season as they have won three of their last five games.
The Laker JV also came out of Hamilton with a win defeating the Marines 46-18. Junior Tanner Oakley and Freshman Josh Collyer each had 18 points in the win. The JV and Varsity will be in action this Saturday the 26th as they take on the Wawasee Warriors at home.
