Lady Lakers Pick Up First Win

The Lady Lakers picked up their first win of the seaon against Central Noble in overtime by a score of 45-44. The Lakers were down 23-9 at the end of the first half but made a strong push in the third quarter out scoring the Cougars by 12 to get back in the ball game. Abi Thompson lead the Lakeland in scoring with 15 points as Ashtin Kaminer added 14.
Lakeland ended up falling Friday night to conference rival Angola by a final score of 70-40. A strong first half by the Hornets proved deadly as the Lakers were not able to make the comeback. Despite a strong second half by Lakeland, it was simply not enough to beat the Hornets who are now ranked sixth in the state. The Lady Lakers were lead by Sophomore Abi Thompson's 15 points and 10 points by Sophomore Becca Levitz. Lakeland's next game in Tuesday, November 27th against East Noble.
