Home » Football NewsLaker's Keep Milk CanAugust 24, 2012 By Chris Leary of Lakeland High SchoolFriday night the Lakeland Lakers varsity football team started their season with an outstanding 35-7 victory over their county rival, the Prairie Heights Panthers. It was a very interesting game as the Lakers racked up an incredible 390 yards of total offense, which could not have been possible without a offensive line made up of Adam McCulloch, Jordan Ehret, Joe Ferguson, Chris Lehman, and Evan Garretson. Leading the Lakers in offense was Joey Fuller with 123 rushing yards. Scoring touchdowns for the Lakers were Cory Troyer, Taylor Raatz, Joey Fuller, Evan Garretson, and William Kelly. Chris Leary and Logan Owens led a tough defense in tackles. Jordan Aldrich also had an interception. The Lakeland J.V. football team kept the winning streak alive on Monday with an impressive 30-14 victory over the Panthers. Logan Torres lead the Lakeland offense with two rushing touchdowns. Also scoring touchdowns for the Lakers were Nathan Hippenhammer, Travis Fuller, and Clay McCann. On defense, Kolby Weaver had an interception.
