Laker Softballers Downed in Regionals

The Lady Laker softball team saw their postseason run come to an end Tuesday night losing to Woodlan 1-6 in Regional play. The win moves Woodlan to 30-1 and advances them to the Twin Lakes semi-state game. Woodlan jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on an RBI triple and an RBI single by Mady Hostetler. Mady went 3 for 4 at the plate and Haley Hostetler went 2 for 4 for the Warriors who got 9 hits on the night. Hannah Robbins struck out 10 and allowed only 1 earned run - a solo homer by Laker pitcher Ashlynn Grubb. The Laker defense, who played errorless ball last week during the sectional, had 4, leading to 2 unearned runs. Grubb finished with both hits for the Lakers.
