Lakers Playing in Title Game

The Lakeland Lakers topped Farfield in the second round of the IHSAA Sectional, 3-0. The Lakers played a hard fought 9 innings. Ashlynne Grubb got things started in the 9th with a 1 out single. Lexie Myers followed with a bunt single and then Morgan Meyers hit a single to load the bases. Jill Mingus hit a soft fly ball that dropped in play to score the only run needed to win the game. The Lakers managed to keep the Falcons off the bases for the majority of the game by good deffensive plays and Grubb getting 10 K's. The Lakers will play in the sectional championship game agaisnt Wawasee at Farfield on Thursday, May 24, at 7 PM.
