Lakers Late Rally Not Enough to Top Busco

Both the Lakeland Laker varsity and JV baseball squads lost to NECC foe Churubusco Tuesday night. The varsity boys ( 2-8, 0-4 NECC) scored once in the top of the first on a single off the bat of Nick Byler and in the third on a homerun by Morgan Moore, but couldn't hold the Eagles offense which scored three in the bottom of the first and fourth innings. Dalton Schmidt hit his second double of the game into right field to bring around Nick Byler and Morgan Moore in the top of the seventh, but Busco would hold off the rally for the victory. You can see the Lakers in action Thursday as they travel to Goshen to take on the Fairfield Falcons.
