Huntington North was unable to complete its second double-win weekend of the season as the Vikings fell at Fort Wayne Wayne 77-71 on Saturday. Two of Huntington North’s losses have been six-point setbacks to Homestead and Fort Wayne Wayne, who both have 5-1 records. Senior guard Noah Reed has led the Vikings with his average of 17.4 points per game. Reed is shooting 87 percent (48-for-55) from the foul line. He also leads the Vikings with 23 assists. Senior Kalvin Miller joins Reed in double figures at 12.3 points per game. Miller leads the Vikings with 15 3-pointers and is shooting 38 percent from beyond the arc. Senior Trenton Kern is averaging 9.9 points and is second on the Vikings with 30 rebounds. Junior Kyle Platt averages 7.6 points and leads the Vikings with 37 rebounds. The Vikings will look to carry the momentum from their start into the Carroll Shootout. Huntington North plays Heritage at 4 p.m. Dec. 28 at East Noble. The Vikings will then play East Noble at 8 p.m. Dec. 28 at East Noble. Heritage is 2-4 on the season, while East Noble is 1-4 going into Tuesday’s home game against Westview. All of the Dec. 29 games will be played at Carroll.
