Home » Girls' Basketball NewsNorwell girls roll over VikingsNovember 20, 2012 Huntington North High SchoolNorwell girls roll over VikingsNovember 19, 2012 Norwell’s Carlee Harnish, Taylor Wilson and Hanna Smith combined to score 44 points to power the 19th-ranked Knights to a 59-35 win over Huntington North Saturday night at Norwell. Harnish scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed five rebounds. The Knights outscored the Vikings 15-3 from 3-point range. Harnish hit two of the Knights’ threes in the second half. The Knights were 21 of 55 overall from the field, while the Vikings were 14 of 37. Norwell also outscored Huntington North 12-6 at the free-throw line. The Knights upped their season record to 3-0, while the Vikings fell to 0-3. Wilson added 13 points and Smith 11. Paige Frisch helped out with nine points. Liara Isnogle chipped in with four points and Erika Thornton contributed two points. Norwell grabbed 24 rebounds with Thornton pulling down six rebounds. Wilson and Smith each grabbed four rebounds. Frisch had three and Isnogle two. Laken Chaney and Kelsey Beer also played. The Knights had 18 steals, led by Harnish with five. Wilson had four steals. Wilson also had four of the Knights’ eight assists. Maddie Klender and Caitlyn Shrock each scored eight points to lead Huntington North. Kayla Patrick had six points and Paige Coolman five. Alyson Trout and Kelsey Hollowell each scored three points. Hannah Stoffel added two points. Klender grabbed six of the Vikings’ 25 rebounds. Coolman, Hollowell and Patrick each grabbed four rebounds. The Knights took an 11-6 lead in the first period and led 27-17 at halftime. They broke the game open with a 23-12 advantage in the third period. The Knights’ junior varsity team suffered a 26-19 defeat. Quinn Shelton led Norwell with eight points. Chloie Williams added six points and Paige Markley five to round out the Knights’ scoring. Norwell returns to action Tuesday night, hosting Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran at 6:15 p.m.
