SB: 3A #13 Mt. Vernon (Fortville) no-hits host Hamilton Heights, 12-0

Junior Ellie Balbach struck out six and walked four in a five-inning 12-0 no-hit victory for Mt. Vernon (Fortville) (1-0) March 20 at Hamilton Heights (0-2).

Balbach and senior Whitney Estes each had three hits for Mt. Vernon, with Estes and junior Rachel Houck (two hits) scoring two runs apiece. Estes has three runs batted in, while Balbach added two RBIs in helping her own cause as the Marauders tallied once in the first, twice in the second, four times in the third, and five times in the fifth.

Senior Rachel Sturtevant took the loss for the Huskies, surrendering seven hits and seven runs (three earned) while walking three in 2 2/3 innings pitched. Freshman Amada Hasty finished up, allowing six hits and five runs (two earned) while walking one in 2 1/3 IP.
