Bulldogs Prepare for 2011 Season with mid-summer passing scrimmages
July 28, 2011Milton Union High School
Entering the 2011 season, Milton-Union had not participated in a single passing scrimmage (7-on-7) since the 2008 season. This year the coaches decided that some extra passing exposure was needed...both on offense and defense, so they took to the road and participated in three 7-on-7 scrimmages.
The 'Dogs traveled to Sidney and faced off with Northwestern, Sidney and Parkway bringing home three wins and the overall trophy for the "Lineman's Challenge". MU's linemen totally dominated the opposition bringing home some needed confidence and a boost before summer camp. Meanwhile, the offensive backs were tearing up the competition in their passing scrimmage. Overall, Milton looked rusty but improved over last year.
Saturday, July 9th The Dogs traveled to Minster to take on Greenville, Celina, Mechanicsburg, Sidney and Minster. Overall, the Dogs looked good and yet were able to pull out some needed areas of concern that will be addressed in two-a-days.
Two-a-day practice starts August 1st with scrimmages against Covington (Aug 9th, home, 6 pm), Kenton Ridge (Aug 13th, Away, 10 am) and finally Graham (Aug 19th, home, 6 pm). Week 1 is August 26th at Miami East.
This year Milton has home games vs. Tipp City, Bellbrook, Carlisle (Parent's Night), Preble Shawnee (homecoming), and Northridge (Senior Night). All games start at 7:30.
