Bunn Runners Shine in 2A Meet

| | | CLEMMONS -- Bunn High School capped off its historic season by competing in the Class 2-A Boys State Cross Country Meet last Saturday at Tanglewood Park, which is located just west of Winston-Salem.
The Wildcats finished 16th overall as a team with 357 points.
Bunn's top runner was junior Brannon Perry, who delivered a time of 19:15.71 over the 3.1-mile course. That was good enough for 82nd place.
BHS' finishers from the meet were as follows:
- Brannon Perry -- 82nd at 19:15.71
- Patrick Limer -- 85th at 19:22.39
- Graham Lewis -- 90th at 19:32.42
- Jesse Ray -- 94th at 19:40.74
- Jake Young -- 98th at 19:44.30
- Jacob Vollmer -- 108th at 20:00.48
- Troy Gupton -- 116th at 20:24.26
Lewis, Young and Vollmer were seniors who were competing in the final event of their Bunn cross country careers.
Wilkes Central's Chase Miller was the boys champion with a time of 16:35.93 -- almost 12 seconds better than runner-up Ben Sterett of Swansboro.
East Lincoln was the team champion at 101 points, with Central Davidson taking the No. 2 overall position with 112 points. |
