The University of Tulsa men’s basketball team can move into a tie for first place in Conference USA with a victory Saturday night at Tulane. Tipoff for Saturday’s game is set for 7:07 p.m. and can be seen on Cox Cable channel 269.

A victory would allow Tulsa to keep pace with first-place Memphis. Currently, the Golden Hurricane are one game behind the Tigers. The two teams close out the regular season in Tulsa on March 3.

Tulsa (16-11 overall, 9-4 C-USA) enters the game having won 9 of its last 11 contest. The Golden Hurricane owns a 8-4 advantage in the series over Tulane (15-12, 3-10).

TU is coming off a 69-50 victory over Rice last weekend. In that game, sophomore guard Jordan Clarkson scored a team-high 23 points. Steven Idlet added 18 as the only other Golden Hurricane player in double figures.

What to Watch For:

  • Idlet needs five points to become the 33rd player in Golden Hurricane history to reach 1,000 points.
  • Clarkson has been on a tear, scoring in double figures in each of his last 24 games. In addition, in seven of those games, he has scored 20 or more points.
  • Backcourt trio Scottie Haralson, Clarkson and Eric McClellan has averaged 37.5 points per game in the last 11 games.
